The guides, articles and answers on this Site are general information for homeowners and businesses in Dallas County. They are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a qualified technician.
Disclosure: who carries out the restoration work
Dallas Water Damage Restoration runs a 24-hour intake line and an online request form for water damage in Dallas and Dallas County. Nobody employed by Dallas Water Damage Restoration extracts water, sets drying equipment, takes moisture readings or rebuilds anything. Every request is handed to an independent restoration company (the "partner"), ordinarily the one able to send a crew soonest, and that company alone answers for its own inspection, its quoted price, its equipment and the standard of its work.
No Texas license classification is specific to water extraction, structural drying or moisture monitoring, and the state issues no general contractor license for reconstruction after drying, so the partner holds neither; nor does Dallas Water Damage Restoration or this website hold or claim any license, certification, bond or insurance. Plumbing repair is carried out by a plumber licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. Mold assessment and mold remediation are licensed activities regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation under Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1958, and a license holder may not perform both roles on one project. Technician certifications from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification are issued by a private industry body, not by a government agency.
License and certification details for any stage of the work are given on request: telephone (833) 490-5225 at any hour, or ask when the partner calls ahead of the visit. They are withheld from this website in the interest of that company's privacy, and any number you are handed may be checked against Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners records before work begins. Prices shown on this site are estimates confirmed on site, and coverage under your own policy is decided by your insurer.

Prices are estimates
Price ranges are typical estimates for our service area in 2026. They are not quotes or offers. Your price is confirmed in person before any work starts.
Safety around water damage
Standing water can hide live electrical circuits: do not walk into a flooded room until power to that area is off. Sewage and floodwater (IICRC Category 3) can carry bacteria and viruses; keep children, pets and anyone with a weak immune system away, and do not handle contaminated materials without protection. Visible mold larger than a small patch should be assessed before anyone disturbs it. When in doubt, leave the area and call a professional.
Licensing, standards and insurance
Texas issues no single statewide licence for general contracting or for water extraction and drying. Specific trades are licensed: plumbing by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, and mold assessment and remediation, along with air conditioning work, by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Under TDLR's mold rules one licence holder may not both assess and remediate the same project, so testing and removal are separate jobs. The IICRC S500 (water damage) and S520 (mold remediation) standards are industry guidance, not government licenses. Insurance coverage is decided by your insurer under your policy; nothing on this Site is a promise of coverage or of a claim outcome, and information here is a summary, not legal or insurance advice.
